It's time to sign up for ABY Weekend. The youth always have a great time! Jared will have the forms Sunday. Please let him know if you have any questions.

If you would like to send a message to Grace Hagan, her address is on the bulletin board in the hallway of the sanctuary building.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summers!

Ball season is nearly over for some and school is edging closer again.

In the Youth Group so far this summer, we've been to Carbondale Splash Park, seen Anthem Lights courtesy of Pepsi at the Miner's Ballpark, helped at the Carnival for the VBS kickoff, and have met every Sunday possible between Mother's Day and Father's Day.

Coming up, we've got a bonfire, nights at Herrin Bowl and Cape Splash, serve the Church congregation day and a water war before school starts.  Of course, we will have lessons on how to build relationship with God, who God is, and how to exemplify your faith to others.

Remember to like our Facebook page for all the updates, details and pictures.  Also download the GroupMe app and text me at (618) 925-6117  and I'll add you to the Youth Group feed for quicker updates!

And lastly, please check out the new youth board location in the sanctuary hallway across from the Sunday School rooms.  There is a food sign-up sheet if you would like to donate or help out and there's also a calendar of events for the duration of the summer.

Thanks and God Bless!

Crainville Baptist Church recognized Grace Hagan on June 25, 2017.  Grace received "The Airman's Bible" and the congregation prayed for her.  She left for St. Louis on June 26 and will be flying to San Antonio where she will be in Basic Military Training for 8 1/2 weeks.  When she finishes BMT, she will go to Tech School at Sheppard Air Force Base for Aircraft Armament training.

May 6th  - Cardboard Boat Regatta

Crainville Baptist Youth Group with Rev. Juan Aragón,

missionary to Chiapas, México

March 19, 2017

Dear Parents and Youth Members,

March 1, 2017

Jennifer and I would like to thank you again for allowing your children to be a part of the Crainville Baptist Church Youth Group.  It is a great honor to be able to teach your children about the love of Jesus Christ and how to be a disciple of His in the world.  We have a few big events coming up that I want to make sure that you are all aware of in advance.

The month of March will slow down a little bit on events, but we'll pick up again in April with two more events that we think the youth will enjoy.  On Friday, March 14, 2017, Unspoken, Casting Crowns and Danny Gokey will be at the SIU Arena.  We are hoping more Youth will want to attend this event since it is so much closer to home.

Our next event is one that our Youth Group has taken part in before.  This is the 44th  Annual Great Cardboard Boat Regatta at Carbondale Reservoir Evergreen Park.  We are going to make a boat, out of cardboard of course, using a Christian themed event in the Bible.  I'm looking forward to what the Youth decides on for their theme and how their boat turns out!  Definitely make room on your calendars for this event!  We will definitely need some cardboard as we get closer to beginning this project!

Our lessons have gone from the tenets of the Christian faith, how to share our faith through our unique personal testimony, and how to live out our faith daily.  As we studied personal stories of faith, we watched videos of other's testimonies from Ben Carson to Matt Holiday.  We are preparing the Youth to become more mission-minded and how to be like a Disciple of Jesus.

Starting March 5, the Youth will change slightly.  Due to the disparity in age groups, we will begin having 5-6th  grade Youth members arrive at 4 PM and leave at 6 PM. They will have a lesson tailored more to their age and will have an opportunity to play and socialize with kids in their age group.

Junior high and high school age Youth will arrive at 5 PM and leave at 7 PM.  This will mean that  5th , 6th graders and junior & high school Youth will still meet together at 5 PM, which time we will eat and socialize.  The junior, high school lesson will begin at 6 PM.

I'm hoping all goes well with this change and that even more Youth become interested in attending.  Please keep the Youth group in your prayers and thank you so much for all of  your support!

On Friday, February 24, 2017 from 7 to 10 PM at SEMO

is the Rock and Worship Road Show.  We think the Youth will really enjoy this concert!  Steven Curtis Chapman, Francesca Battistelli, Rend Collective, Passion and more will be there.

Tickets will be paid for with fundraising dollars earned during the Christmas Wrap event.  Contact Jennifer Whitehead for more information.

Christmas Break Lock-In      Dec. 16 - 17, 2016   8 PM - 8 AM

We will have tons of games, a scavenger hunt, movies, pizza, snacks and learn about the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and what that means for us.  5th graders thru high school aged kids are invited and are encouraged to bring a friend.  The more the merrier!!!  Adults please note that every youth that wants to attend must have their parents sign an approval form that will be supplied at Church and during youth meetings on Sundays.  We also need parents with energy to help make this a fun, safe and memorable event.  If you can help for at least two hours, please let Jennifer or Jared Whitehead know and what time you would be willing to assist.  We will need at least 6 volunteers throughout  the lock-in.  One more thing, we of course will need snacks.

Pizza and drinks will be provided.  Thanks for all your help in this and we are looking forward to a great Christmas Break Lock-in!!!!

Hello Crainville Baptist Youth!

Jennifer and I are extremely excited to have you in the youth program!  If you haven't come to a meeting before we would love for you to come and "try" it out and tell us what you think.  If you like it, feel free to invite a friend!

We are looking forward to having fun, making everlasting friendships and helping you in your daily walk with Christ.  No matter where you are in your relationship with Jesus, we would love to help you learn more.

There are many activities already in the works for the upcoming school year and we hope you will be able to attend.  I am very open to ideas of course from everyone for any events, activities, or lessons that you believe will be of spiritual benefit to our youth, Church, and community.

My goal for all our youth is that they all grow in the knowledge, love and saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and ultimately accept him as their Lord and Savior.  We are more than happy to answer any questions regarding your personal walk with Jesus Christ no matter how silly you may think the question is.

Each Youth Group Meeting will involve a lesson and how to apply the lesson in our daily lives.  These lessons will be biblically based and will involve discussions and activities.  Some lessons will have an assignment to be completed before the next meeting, typically a scripture memorization or an activity to complete.  We will also have an activity  at every meeting, so please make sure not to wear your Sunday best!

Youth Group Meetings will typically be on Sunday afternoons from 5 to 7 PM unless otherwise stated.

Jared & Jennifer Whitehead

Our Youth are fantastic and have a lot going on.  See the main church calendar on this website for specific events.

Junior High and Senior High

Youth group meetings are usually on Sunday evenings at 5:00to 7:00 PM.  To be sure the meeting time has not been changed for some special event or due to weather, it is best to call the church office, (618) 985-2574, on Friday morning.

We need an editor for this page.  Until we have someone, see the individual Sunday evening on the calendar.  If you are interested, talk with Al Turl.
